Default tyre press

Hi all just sput some 18" on my classic with 215/35/18 tyres what would you guys run them at?

Also it has two cheap tyres on the rear and seems to let go very easy is this norm?

Yeah not good to mix tyres really, different compounds, so different grip

The pressure is relative to the weight of the car, not the size of the wheel/tire, so run them at whatever you ran them at before.

I'd recommend replacing the rear tires with the same as the front ASAP, especially with the worst of the winter to come. Put the new ones on the front though !

That's what I do, but I don't think it is recommended.

thanx guys put to new ones on front but carnt aford two more so 32 at front and 33 at rear?

Crap tyres on the front may save you some grief, they will understeer early and you can back off the throttle... crap tyres on the rear means oversteer, fine for us old folk, but not as easy to correct if you are used to FWD.

its so bad in the wet she just comes round even at very low speeds looks good on the round abouts but its not prodictable lol used to drive it sideways with control now it dangerous

Best tyres ALWAYS on the rear. It's a common misconception to put them on the front. If the cheap tyres are that bad that they affect the braking then you shouldn't be running them at all.

Thought classic tyre pressures were 33psi front and 28psi rear, or is that just UK MY97.

Not sure of this but isn't it common on low pros to lower the pressure a couple of pounds to soften the ride and prevent the tyre wearing excessively in the centre?

I go with 33 at front 31 at rear.
