hi pete what suspension are u running? i just put 18s on mine , prodrove p1s and havent had any sort of problem with em ( so far ) i do have tein coilovers tho, not sure of the width but will get the old tape measure out tomoro if this will be any help? u could always get spacers to add that extra bit , but then ur probably lookin at cutting away the wheel arch inner lip which sounds painful

It depends on the offset, the newage STI rims fit a classic and they are 8" wide.

She is sitting on standard suspension at the mo. I am getting tein or whiteline
lowering springs.
I need to get rid of that gap between the arch and the wheels

Sorry mate...don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm in the same boat...

Know exactly how you feel I've always liked the wheels as flush to the arches as possible and the 7" wide wheels just don't cut it.

I have speedline ST2's on at the mo which is a great looking and strong wheel but is only 7" wide so am debating to either fit some Eibach or H&R spacers to take up the difference or change the wheels to 8" width.

Want to keep the 17" diameter as I think the cars hadle better than with 18"'s.

My car's on the prodrive suspension and not lowered.

Can anyone advice us or better still has anyone got 8"x17" wheels on and pics??

thanks all.

I got the bugeye ones and they are only 7.5. Unless you mean some others.
The standard tyres on them is 225, and that was too wide for my classic.

if your getting 18s you will need a good suspension setup something like coilovers ,springs are useless with 18s too soft
