Default Uprated breaks mean bigger wheels?

Hello,

I'm a complete newb. I bought an 08 Forester XT. I didn't realise it had been modified but it apparently has impreza breaks on it and bigger pro drive wheels. I'm looking to buy a set of winter tyres and thought perhaps it'd be easiest to buy a set of wheels second hand to swap over. However am I now limited to the larger wheel size or can I buy a conventional wheel/tyre?

Further, what are the tyre pressures supposed to be on these prodrive wheels/drives I have presently? What is the preferred tyre to have both summer and winter?

Any 16" wheels from an Impreza that came with the 4 pots will fit (basically anything after 1998) and most of the 17" wheels too (anything earlier than '97 isn't a guarantee).

The above is only true if what you have fitted are SUBARU branded 4-pots.

If it's had Brembo's or others fitted, good luck getting many wheels to fit

Then you should be OK with 16" Scoob wheels.
