Help needed Brakes on subaru 2001 wrx bugeye
Hi all i have just recently put new front discs and pads on my subaru impreza 2001 bugeye,grooved discs and Ferodo racing pads bought from a trader on scoobynet,i am having a big problem when i brake at 60mph or over the steering wheel shakes alot but does not when i brake at 10mph to 65mph,
any ideas asap in need of help thanks

did you clean the hub face with WD40 and emery cloth before fitting the discs to make sure they were perfectly clean.this will make sure the discs are running true
Are all the caliper pistons free to move easily , if not they can cause the pads to drag on the discs and overheat them warping them.
How did you bed them in , it maybe pad deposits on the discs , do some hard high speed stops and see if it makes any difference.
Did you have them from me , if so they are guaranteed for 12 months

hi ian yes i got the brakes from u bout 2 - 3 weeks ago,thanks for the quick reply,yes the problem is there is alot of shaking through the steering wheel wen braking at high speeds,i have done about probably 200 miles on the new brakes discs and pads and there still the same,any other ideas,i cleaned the hub and everything, thanks mark

ok mate will do,no worries,1 problem,would u send me another set of discs and pads 1st as i cant leave my car dead anywhere,then i will send u the old ones back once taken off

Hi
Try some high speed stops over the weekend and give them death ! it might be pad deposits on the discs , which will clean them up , if not i'll get a pair of discs sent out to you.
I wont be able to answer you until sunday afternnon as I'm on the Rally GB all tomorrow and sunday.
