Don't get cheap when it comes to tyres, remember they are the only thing that connects your car to the tarmac.

Fit the best you can afford. From experiance cheap tyres don't last as long as a good quality tyre.

Stick to something like Goodyear F1's, michelin PS2 or continental contact 2

I found kwikfit to be the cheapest when looking for tyres last month, they gave me quote first off that was really high, I said I could get them cheaper and asked for best price, they came back with a price slightly higher than Mytyres.co.uk but including fitting!!!!

Shame there was none in the country. So used my tyres in the end got kwikfit to fit.

Last month Kwikfit were doing an offer of buy 4 Bridgestones get 25% off.

Great I thought....until the guy said "a set of four 215/45/R17's.....that'll be £415.11

Maybe its me being a bit tight but £415? with a 25% discount?...in true Fonejacker Terry Tibbs style "I could'nt facking believe it!"

I always get my tyres from Leigh Tyres.

Leigh Tyres & Wheels - Alloy wheel and tyre specialists

I just paid £320 for a set of 4 215/45/17 Toyo T1S's including fitting and tracking but that was a reduced rate as they now me there and thats where me and my mates always get all our tyres from. I think they are normally about £360 for T1S's and £380 for the T1R's plus the tracking, they dont keep the T1R's in stock and will have to order them for you but thats still a good price.

I've never had a moments trouble with Hankook Ventus tyres. 40-50 quid a corner depending on size, last well, grip well, good in the wet. Never had one punctured or had any adverse wear. Also recomend Fulda (Goodyear budget brand) Carat/Assura. Used to be able to get a good eal on Vredestein UltraC for about 60 quid a corner, but not been down that route for a while. I've had Yokahama (539, awful in damp conditions and wore very quickly), Michelin (never sealed well to rim so lost air, 3 punctures in 6 months), Toyo (good, but no better than Hankook so not worth the money). Best I ever had was RE070's (awesome dry grip and cornering), but I'll not pay 100+ a corner so probably will never have another set. Under no circumstances buy Wanli tyres. I saw a mate rip half the outer tread off a set in 9 laps on track from new.
