I haven't used the Toyos but I would hazard a guess that they aren't anywhere close, from their line up the R888 would be a better choice.

I've had a set of Toyos before that I had removed and replaced with a different brand of tyres. Two of the sidewalls were very soft to the point it badly affected the handling and steering response. You could actually compress the tread/sidewalls on the two tyres with your finger.

I've also had RE-070s fitted. One of them wasn't quite inflated properly when I first fitted them. It didn't look any different to the others, and didn;t affect the handling. It was 16psi lower than the other 3!! I think that says something about sidewall rigidity

The flip side of this though, as that tyres with very rigid sidewalls tend to tramline badly, and are very nervous on wet bumpy roads.

Default Tell you in 2 days time ;)

I'm about to have some new wheels tyres fitted, the tyres being T1-R's. I've currently got the 070's fitted, so I'll be able to tell you the difference in 2 days.

I have some T1-Rs on a MY00 with 17'' wheels - wouldnt say they have particularly stiff side walls compared to any RE0x0 tyres ! In fact, I'm not too impressed with them at all, especially wet weather grip. Wont be buying them again - can't see why a lot of people on here rave about them.
