Quiet tyres?
Hi
Just got my Scooby at the weekend (MY01 wagon) and found that the rear tyes need replaced (Bridgestone) and the front are pretty new Wanli ones.
Not heard good things about the Wanli so want to change all four.
Almost ordered Kumho KU15 (£250 for the 4 fully fitted) but read somewhere that they are pretty noisy.
I do around 20k miles a year and really don't thrash the Scooby round the corners (I know, why did I get one then....) so I'm looking for something that will last around 15k miles and is also quiet for the motorway trips.
Any suggestions for a decent £60-£80 tyre?
Cheers
Richard.

Another vote for Toyo's. I got the T1's with my new wheels. I went from 16 to 17 inch wheels, but the ride and road noise was so much better than my old Bridgestone SO3's, oh, and the grip levels are phenominal!

I went from 17" Toyo's on the front and Michelin PS's on the back to 18" Avon ZZ3's all round (came with the 18" Rota's I bought). ZZ3's go for £80-£130 each.
First impressions are the ZZ3's are ok, I thought they were quiet but they are VERY noisy on concrete surfaced sections of road. I'm also unsure about them in the wet, I don't have the confidence to throw the car into a corner when it's wet like I did with the Toyo/Michelin combination.
Maybe it's because they're still new, maybe not.

Eventually went with Avon ZZ3's. Cost £78 a corner fitted. So far they are sooo much quieter than the weird combo of tyres the car's previous owner had on it and the grip seems very good (even though they are still fresh).

The ZZ3's are fine! most people will poo-poo them as they either Heard they were crap or used ZZ1's previously. (which were crap!)
You get good life out of them, they're resonably quiet and contrary to belief, DO work well in the wet.
I've used Toyo T1s, Goodyear F1's but the ZZ3's give better life and about the same grip as the other two. Noise on concrete roads is a little loud, but it will be with any directional tyre, the T1s is no different.
