I have the OE WRX wheels that were neglected a little by the previous owner with some all season tyres (Vredestein Sportrac) and a set of silver STi alloys with RE070's for summer and special occasions. Would love a set of 19" OZ 'Legs for show.

Road and track tyres and wheels - used my road tyres (REO40s) on the track the other day and completely knackered the fronts, but discovered that I much prefer the tactility of 205/45/17s to 215/45/17s (Pirelli Corsas).

Carradoboy,

I used to have Vredestein ST2s and found them to be the best wet weather tyres i've ever had and/or used. Stunning performance in standing water!

I did a particularly impressive 180 skid in the ice on potenzas last year - amazingly missing a parked up merc. Its front wheel drive skinny tyred 70 brake horse powered Fiesta for me in slippy conditions and not the scoob. Obviously winter tyres seem very sensible idea if you need to be out and about.

Smile Yup in North of Scotland - 2 sets a must

Got my OEM 16" silver UK alloys for winter and my gold 17"about to go into hibernation with Toyo T1-R's on.

Any recommendations for winter tyres - Vredestein or Gislaveds etal ?

All info welcome - rain maybe in the south but its a knockng bet up here north of Inverness that some of that white fakey stuff falls and then its funtime on 4 snow boards and the ABS knocking like f***.

Yeah I have another set wheels for Winter fitted 205/50/16 with Vredestein Wintrac XL.
I changed from the std 17 to a 16 for winter due to the better selection of tyres and under the advice of friends in Norway.

Forcast for this winter is for one of the coldest in decades. Remember when the temp drops below 7deg your really should be using a winter tyre.
