Default Slow Puncture

A friend of mine has a slow punture, taking a couple of days to go down and I was wondering if anybody had any experience of the stuff you can put in your tyre to fix it. If so does anybody recommend anything in particular.

Cheers, Simon

Hiya

If you are talking about stuff like Tyre Weld or stuff like that, as far as I know (so this may not be 100% true) it is only a 'get you home' solution and effectively ruins the tyre - ie if it was repairable it isnt now.

For a permanent solution I think your friend would have to get it repaired professionally, or if that isnt possible, replace it.

As I said, thats what I think the case is - I had a slow puncture a couple of years ago and was told that it would ruin the tyre if I used it.

He is trying to get a new tyre, so may only need it for a couple of week. I had used it years ago, in my old MG Metro. Couldn't get a good seal between the alloys and the tyres. Put some stuff in (can't remeber what it was called) and it worked wonders. Cheers for the info. Anybody else have any views.

If the tyre is going to be binned anyway they I'm sure its worth a stab.

Personally, I would treat it like a spacesaver though until the new tyre was ready.

Others may have more informed and different views though!
