I've given up trying to justify the price of 6 pots or AP brakes as I don't do track days so I'm down to the Godspeed kit or the Scoobysport Pagid setup for my MY01. Read good things about both and I know the Godspeeds aremore money (and further away considering I'd want Ian's guys to fit them, and I like the look of the bigger discs) but would I be disappointed if I went for the Pagid. Feel I need them after the Tek3, really shows up the inadequacies of the OEM brakes.
Any advice, pros - cons, experiences much appreciated.

They are large (big surface are therefore large amount of heat transfer = greater cooling) and have aluminium bells (to prevent warping) and the pads are huge, so if you are a hard braker they are superb.
You can fit them yourself too, or get a local garge to fit them for 4 hours worth of labour (5 hours if you gofor braided hoses(recommended)).

Last year I got through 5 pairs of discs due to driving a lot on the Ring.
Tried the Pagid group N.......cracked a disc first time out despite following running in procedure religously.....in my opinion barely better than OEM.
Finally got the Godspeed 294mm discs (had 16" wheels at the time) and can honestly say they are a world apart in terms of braking force and durability......absolutely NO CONTEST!!!
Don't wast your money like I did.....go straight for Godspeed's kit...shall I say it again.....the Godspeed kit is by far the best value one around.
I'm not on Ian's payroll as it may sound, I just was so fed up with changing my discs every 4-6 weeks and the Godspeed kit just sorted it completely. Now that I have 17" wheels I'm contemplating selling my 294mm kit to a mate and upgrading to the 335mm kit.
Regarding fitment, the 335mm kit is a little more involed, cos you need the adapter bar for the calliper, but a reasonalble home mechanic should be able to do the job easily in 3 hours.
You will have to bleed the brakes cos the calipers have to be split, so if I was you I'd fit some Goodrich hoses at the same time.
Let us know how you get on!
James.

I've also heard mixed reviews on the grp n setup.
I'm pretty set on the tsl hi spec 6pot kit, which is a lot less than APs and equally effective.
However, what are the details of the Godspeed kit for the MY02 car. I'm yet to see any on the newer cars. Presumably it uses the OE calipers, with a 330mm disc and adapter? Does it use all standard mountings? How much?
cheers
Ed

Certainly do! I'd have saved myself a fortune in both time and money if I'd have gone for your discs first. When will people realise that single piece discs don't even come close to alu-bell items when it comes to durability and heat resistance, esp for track use.
Also, due to OEM style discs transfering more heat to the hubs I've had to change both front wheel bearings AND hubs. Perhaps this could have been avoided if I'd have switched earlier.
BTW, for anyone interested, when my wheel bearings started to go the noise was nothing like the usual grind caused by an ever roughening bearing seat.....it was actually more of a creaking/squeaking....very strange, but definitely due to bearing failure. OK, gonna stop going off on a tangent from the thread now.

Is the 335 kit still £595 and does that inc vat. How much extra to get fitted? I have relatives in Bridgend so not a problem to pop down there.
