Can I fit 225 X 40 X 18's on my Type R without them rubbing or should I stick with 215's.

I have had no suspension mods and very very very rarely have more than 1 passenger.

I was wondering about the same thing, but I couldn't be bothered to wait for someone to answer your question. Below should help...

I have a 95 WRX and 225x35x18 only rubbed on the rear, and with the addition of a 3mm spacer it is no problem

Why was everybody talkin about;

215 x 40 x 18's
225 x 35 x 18's

I also have a set of P1 rims that are "225 x 40 x 18's"
(not 215's and not 35's)

Will these fit cos i'm currently running on (nearly slicks) and wonderin of these will fit or am I gonna have to go out and by some new 225 x 35 x 18 boots for my rims

(It may just be me, but I dont think you question was answered)

Cheers in advance all,

Scott

sc00byd00byd00 - I was 90% sure that those wheels with those tyres would not fit on a classic car which is why I never bought them. You are now gonna have to spend around £600 on new boots for the alloys just to make them fit.

p.s Did you know you can get a brand new set with boots for around £1250. Cheaper than £850 + £600 in my books, still you'll get some back for selling the old tyres...

Anyway - 225/40-18's will rub on a classic, you may just get away with 225/35-18's without any serious loads or abuse.
