After cleaning apply a good layer of a quality wax to the wheels. Either polish off the wax or leave on. If like me you clean your wheels frequent then polish off. Next time you come to wash away all that brake dust you will find it that much easier. I use this method but only use warn water with some added car shampoo to wash away the grime. Works a treat.

I use the Autoglym alloy wheel cleaner. I used to use Wonder Wheels but got fed up of having to apply it with a brush and the brush disiintegrating after several applications....

The Autoglym product is spray-on.

Have used both Autoglym, and Wonder Wheels, both v.good.
Agree that you need to give them a good polish afterwards. I did mine from new with polish/extra gloss topcoat both front and rear. Now I can get them clean in short time.
