Question

Hi guys, I just fitted the fantastic godspeed 308 kit to my RA

I've fitted the discs with the groves facing the front of the car, like so:

I saw that the cooling veins were straight so assumed they could be fitted either way..... is this wrong? BTW, my discs are groved, not drilled and groved.

Cheers

Paul

had the same sort of thing with my brembos, providing the grooves are straight it doesn't matter which way they go. if they were curved they would have to be fitted the other way.

lol ****, mine are on the other way round to all those pics..... some people say it doesnt matter what way round they go, hummm, I will speak to Ian @ godspeed when he returns from his break, see what he thinks.

AP fit their groves facing the same way as I have mine, what would be the pros and cons of both ways?

Personaly I think they look better facing the way I have them

Put an AP sticker on the calipers and you'll be fine

I ain't got a flippin clue if it makes any difference The grooves look like they have the same profile in each direction, so guess they can easily deglaze the pads either way.

Ive got Brembo's on my car and the disks face the opposite way to most others ive seen but they are correct to the instructions.
On the back ive also got grooved disks that are the opposite way round to the fronts ?? but again they are correct with the instructions they came with.
The guy I spoke to at Scooby Mania said it was dependent on the cooling vents in the disk that deturmind(sp?) the way the disks went, after all the grooves are only there to reface the pads.

Andy.....sorry for any bad spelling but its wayyyy past my bed time

Will soon find out when I break the discs in half!

Grooves make no difference.

Vains do, if they are straight u can fit to either side.

If the vains are not vertical to the hub they need to be catching the air, this usually means the grooves go backwards.

My personal thoughts are that the groove deglazes the pad, so if the muck then gets 'thrown out' from the disc that should be better, if the grooves go inwards, then all the pad crap has to go inwards, and it's not going to with the wheel going round is it, just my thoughts, but I reckon it's a valid point!
