Best DOT 5.1 Fluid and where from?

I've just put in some Motul RBF600 racing line. According to Motuls web site this is what they use in the Subaru WRC cars so it can't be that bad (however they could be using it cos of the sponsorship deal they have with Motul, and the nice amount of money that comes with it). It seems to be good stuff so far tho. Got mine from Demon Tweeks, think it was about £20 for two 1/2 litre bottles and next day delivery.

Howdy.
I am using Motul's DOT 5.1 and satisfied with it.
Believe this is what Motul recommend for ABS equipped cars used all year round, apparently as it retains its properties and stays liquid at lower temperatures than the racing fluid.

Just to clarify, the DOT rating is a measure of water absorbancy, not a heat rating.
Obviously, water in your brake lines is not a good thing so higher DOT ratings are preferred for road cars.
So-called 'racing' fluids generally have a lower DOT rating but higher heat rating. You can use them in a road car, but they need flushing regularly, like once a year.
ABS works with any fluid.
Cheers,
Richard.

Every two years for 5.1 is fine. If you do track days, I'd also bleed them on a regular basis.

So Jawa got any ideas on what to go for, I can't email out at the moment so have to resort to this. Thinking of going down the braided hose line at last, just need some good fluid to go in them.

I always use seuper Dot 4 fluid e.g. castrol super response. It has a higher temperature capacity than dot 5.1. The trouble with dot 5.1 is that once it has boiled (which does take some effort) it foams up and you can't bleed the air out.
