need a new clutch fitted to my T5 van , appreciate any prices for the fit , ive got the clutch .

Do you know if it has a standard or dual mass flywheel fitted?

yes its the duel mass , ive asked a few people who i know but they havnt got the facilities to do it , aparently the engine has to be suported or something and its about a 4 hour job

It looks like the front subframe needs to come out, so the engine is likely to need extra support. Let me take a look into it further, and I'll be in touch.

ok thanks it will need doing quite quickly as the thrust bearings are making a noise, and the pedal is at the top . just to give you an idea i had a price yesterday of £200 to fit it from a garage in forest fach, but i dont know the fella , just called in as i was passing .

i did a valet for a fella called peter , he owns prestige painting , nice guy , he told me to go and see wayne in the aztec centre , so thats the guy i saw .

I'm going to have to give this one a miss unfortunately, ideally you need a lift for this one. If you're going to keep the van for a while, it may be worth you replacing the DMF while the gearbox is off.

I now peter box aka prestige painting i think ur on about wayne forty he's a good mechanic a mate of mine works for him if its the right wayne he used two work for mister matic the jag specialist and also andy davey motors in dunvant dont now if this helps thanks dean

ok dean thanks , so hes ok then , thats good ill get in touch with him soon as i dont want the van to break down , the clutch ive ordered is a 3 part duel mass does that mean the fly wheel is in it ?

It sounds like it includes the clutch, thrust bearing and dmf. If you know the manufacturer and part number, post them up and i'll take a look.

mate of mine works for GMF , so thats where its coming from

bit of an update , i spoke to wayne today and told him the componants are comline from GMF , but he said they arnt very good , so ill just let him get whatever he thinks are good as im not sure on things like this .
anyway hes priced me £530 all in , so ill go for that , booked it in for thursday so hope it holds up for another week

Did wayne say where hes get the clutch from pete try tps on bruce rd in fforestfach they do genuine vw audi skoda n seat parts at a lot less than the dealers that where i get my skoda bits from there number is 01792 578073

not sure , but he seems to be fussy as he wasnt happy with me getting the GMF ones , so ill leave it with him , the price is ok , ive had a few quotes all about a £100 more .
ive got to drop the van off wednesday evening so ill ask him then .
