Default Anyone with a car trailer/recovery truck??

After the use of a car trailer or recovery truck on Sunday if possible.
I want to go to Basingstoke to collect my Landy, I have a jeep to use, but my preference is for a truck.

Anyone got one or know of one I could borrow??

Bit far bud, its just up the road from you.
Will see if I can find something more local, if it were a trailer then I could get it on the way there.

Thanks for looking anyways.

You won't have any licenses if you get caught pulling that weight with a sportrak. Good luck stopping aswel.

Its fine, within the weight limit (just), as its a braked trailer.
I wouldn`t attempt it if it wasn`t braked at that weight.

Towing capacity on the Sportrak braked is around 1600kgs, of which the Landrover '88 is 1300kgs standard (mine is missing a roof, so will be lighter) and the V8 is actually lighter than the original 2.25 as its Ally not cast pig iron, trailer weighs 3-400kgs.
So I'll take my time (53mph), towing mirrors on, orange beacon at the ready, and I'll be fine.

Will be alright, I'm used to 40ft trailers in high winds, but then those tractors have more power.

Nope, had a bloody mare today.

Went to Bank Farm (10:00am) and their "car trailer" weighed in at 1000kgs unladen!!!!
So quickly decided that my Sportrak would die, and the train weight be so over it would make and American look Skinny!!

So after an hour or so phoning around I found that no-where in Swansea hires out a beaver tail or flatbed, so I phoned my mate with a Nissan Terrano and asked himwhat the weight it could tow, and the Vin said 2500kg Braked, 4k odd train weight.

So worst case scenario was I had to borrow the Terrano, so decided to borrow it, just incase. So went in and said that I had a tow vehicle and siad that I had one from them couple of years ago and it was a normal trailer. He said they sold theirs, so I said what about Carmarthen?? To which a quick phone call confirmed that Carmarthen did indeed have the 500kg trailer I was after originally, so took the Sportrak from Landore to Carmarthen, and got the trailer (around 12:40 by then).

Then weighed up my options I could either use my Sportrak or the Terrano 2.7TD, so made the adult decision of take the one with a working stereo (the Terrano), and left Swansea at 1pm, this messed up my timings majorly lol.

Got down there and tried to find the place, took over an hour to track down this farm, driving through single track lanes through colourfully named places like Farleigh Wallop.

And then got her on, had a good look over and she is near perfect underneath chassis wise, bits to be done are kick panels, and then the metal panel behind the grille, apart from that its fine from what time I have seen (exhaust is fudged lol).

Pics up in my Landy thread.
