well guys i popped into Ace today just to query get brakes fitted price etc and thought it be a good idea to have him take the car out for a drive see if the gear changes start playing up again and he has an idea about what it is.
When he brought it back with the news that my clutch will probably give up the ghost in the next month or two i was well and truly gutted, even more so when he told me how much parts and labour will be. no fitting of my brembo's for a while to be honest
So does anyone have an idea where cheap decent clutches can be sourced from and whats the best sort of thing to look for
Cheers
Ian

Blimely we were all wrong, But I did mention the clutch.
I've got the same as Simb in mine, the Exedy is a great bit of kit, made in the same factory as the AP one, Comes with the bearing (Ap's Don't) and is about £150 cheaper. I think the AP has some extra bolts but that's about it.
You looking at around £150-200 for a standard clutch and around £150-200 to fit I'd splash the extra and get the exedy.
Me and Simb both have lightened flywheels as well, again well worth it.
Stick the brakes on yourself, Should only take about an hour, Daz and Me did mine, Apart from a wheel that we couldn't get off we'd of had it done in an hour

Don't bother with the braided lines yet and just get the front on for now, i didn't bothered with braided lines on mine, they can be done when the rears are done later.
Like i said to you the other day i'll help you do the brembo's, i'll sort it with Grant so we can use his ramp for an hour mate. So wont cost you a thing.
Clutch - if you find you need a clutch desperatly i've got an Exedy Organic in the house brand new in the box, you can have it and order a replacement for me. Got mine from API also for £300.

Cheers for all the replies guys, much appreciated
Ive decided to try and squeeze as much life out of this clutch (compared to an evo i drove yesterday there is loads of life in it )as i can just to give me as much time as possible to save up for an uprated organic clutch and lightened flywheel.
may as well do it properly, maybe an excuse to plan for power mods in the future
cheers again

Ian, i deal in Jap sports and use a chap called Steve who runs SLD motor repairs and he's based on Penallta Ind Estate. He changes clutches and services my GT-R Skylines, Evo's, Imprezas & MR2 Turbos and he's very reasonable as well as doing a fine job! If you want his number PM me and i'll send it on to you........i'm only in Bargoed myself so not too far away!! I used to live next door to Lee (Taff RA) and sold both him and his dad their Scoobs which i'm glad to say are both still running well
Dave.
ps......keep an eye out for my Lambo pearl orange R32 GT-R Skyline with a 2700cc engine, T78 single conversion & 640 horses.......she's a mad one!!!!

The GT-R is mental!! She's got a screamer pipe fitted to her T78 turbo and sounds fantastic! I've got a nice stage 1 GT-R R33 in on Saturday and an ARC demo car arriving (hopefully) next Tues/Weds running around 600horses, she's got an ARC kit which i've never seen before so i'm excited already

It's not just orange.......it's Lambo Pearl Orange in true M&S stylee!! Just got to get rid of all the advertising stickers on it and get my own company logo on her Bought another GT-R Skyline Saturday, she's a real minter and a bit nicer to drive as she's had a stage one tweak so not as mad as the orange one!! I'll have to start selling a few soon or i'll be in the workhouse on bread & water
Dave.
