Default Swissol tips

Ouch,

Just spend a serious amount of money on a MASTER collection of the famous Swissol products. After reading, compairing and seeing the paint of my car changing in a sandpaper look, I finally bite the bullet and ordered such a kit.

Are there any tips that I have to know out of personal expierience ?
The handbook is quite detailed and repeats that you have to use all the products very sparingly...

What do you do with the waxpads and towels when you're fiished ?
It's a sin to just wash them and lose the famous smells....

The waxpads I normally just wash out in the sink with some washing powder and let them soak, then ribse well, and drip dry!
The towels go in with the normal washing!!
The biggest tip is to allow plenty of time, and don't be scared to use some elbow grease!!

What are all those towels and pads used for ?
I have black and white towels, microfibres (1 long hair, 1 short hair) a black and a white "pad" and some white polishing clote (feels like a bandage).

It is not so good explained in the handbook what to use for what sort of work...

The white & black pads are used for the application of the cleaner fluid & the wax. I use the black for the wax & the white for the cleaner fluid.
The same with the terry towels, I use the white for buffing off the cleaner fluid & the black for buffing off the wax.
The other items do not come with the master kits sold in the UK. However they can be used with the wood polish, metal polish, glass cleaner, protection, leather cleaner & leather milk.
The basics of use are shown on my web site here :-

http://www.performanceparts4u.com/about_swissol.asp

The handbook also has a description of all products & details on how to use them.

I trust that this helps, however should you need more info then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Always wash the towels between uses & even the pads can be washed when necessary !

Thanks Paul, I read the book and some things were clearer then.
It seems that I was a litlle "dazzling" from that great smell of all those products....
Like the wheel cleaner smell,

Sadly it's snowing here (5 inches in a few hours) and freezing cold, it looks like I have to wait or speak to my dealer to use his workshop on the weekend.

BTW, is it harmful for the products that they have been in the cold here ? The Master Collection is of course a thermo-bag, packed in a cardboard box, but the Samurai wax itself had a "dry" look, with some cracks on the bleu wax itself, or is this normal ?

thats a shame mate !
The wax does have a dried look but you should really keep your products at room temperature if possible

Fulham,

What's the best way to look after the clay bar.
Mine looks as if I ran over it with the car.

Cheers

LOL DR Motorsport
The clay bar should do about 10 cars approx
the best thing to do with it before then is to make it maluable either in your hands or by putting it in warm water then fold it so that a clean side is visable
ie stretch it out & re fold it after picking out the bigger particles !

I hope this makes sense

Cheers

No problems David
Fingers crossed that it will work
if it is too used then it might be time for a new one !
but for one car it should last a long time

Multi clean is a very good product which can be used either in its concentrated form or diluted depending on the use that you are putting it to !
It can be used on wheels, as an engine cleaner on upholstery or in the home as a bathroom & kitchen cleaner !!!!
