Been meaning to do this for a while but been my usual lazy self. Is it as easy as it sounds?
Take out wedges, sand down, spray paint and put back in?
Not sure what colour is best for DBM. Suppose I can always change the colour again if I dont like it.
Simon.

I got a can mixed to match my paint code (Halfords £9) sanded them lightly with wet and dry and sprayed several times (attacking at a different angle each time to make sure the whole of the vents were covered ).
Hardest part is waiting for the coats to dry before spraying again and beating the temptation to blast them (only causes runs in the paint)
Easiest mod to do for the maximum effect

Even easier...
Just use an old tothbrush and thinners to rub off orange paint, takes about 5-10 mins each side. Underneath they are satin/matt black rubberised plastic. Using this method avoids the problem of stones chipping of your newly applied black paint and the orange showing through.

Yeah scratch - you just use a flatblade screwdriver and GENTLY lever the wedge out. You should only need to get it part of the way out before it just pops into your hand.
Just be careful with the paint on the bumper.

Don't risk scratching the bumper.
Just take out the indicators (1 screw) then push the wedges out from behind.
There's 4 little lugs holding them in. 2 at the top 2 at the bottom.
Hold the top 2 down and lean the top edge of the wedge forward.
It'll just fall out.
