The Rugby League Of The Extraordinary
Ten month season this year culminating in the World Cup .
http://extraordinaryrugby.com/
I don't hold much hope for my local team, the Vikings, but you never know..
Still worth watching live in the stadium, great spectator sport and not a ££££ rip-off.
Anyone else interested in SL XVIII?

Fell in love with RL after living in Oz, although I have to say I still prefer the NRL which starts in 4 weeks , shame Sky dont show the games live anymore, just a poxy 30 minute round up but at least they still have the Grand Final and more importantly the State of Origin games.
I find it difficult to follow any one team in the UK, I suppose my nearest would be London Broncos or whatever they're known as this season , always had a soft spot for the Saints, possibly because I follow the Saint's in Oz (St George Illawarra Dragons) and they wear the same shirt !!

I don't mind a bit of super league! Lost some of the names and characters compared to a few years ago but there's some good talent around still. Loved watching the likes of Brian Mcdermott and Keiron Cunningham at their peak. Also loved watching the derbies between Saints and Wigan and Leeds and Bradford; Had the pleasure of having a night out with some of Bradford Bull's players a few years ago. To me Rugby League is till a great test of speed, strength and athleticism.

I like the respect shown to the match officials, football should take note.
Same with the video ref, RL first then years later it's getting into football.

The only confrontation I regret not taking place was between Brian Mcdermott and Barrie Mcdermott. Then again Barrie was canny enough for Brian to retire before he started to consider himself the enforcer.

Well what a surprise weekend, St.Helens lost and Widnes won
At No.6 in the league, that's probably the highest that Widnes will get this season.
I hope to be proved wrong though.

Widnes v St. Helens was a fiery game, Widnes down to 11 men after a brawl on the pitch.
If they had stayed at a team of 13 then I think the result would have been reversed
Widnes still above St. Helens in the table.

Wigan supporter here, been supporting them since I was really young as my sister moved to Wigan so me and my family would travel up to see her and catch a game. Was also at the challenge cup final against Sheffield Eagles, never in a million years thought we'd lose that one. Have to say the last few years have been really good with different teams throwing it all into the mix.

Eagles vs Wigan, 1999 if I'm not mistaken. Great game and great battle between Dale Laughton and Neil Cowie Eagles shouldn't have been there in my opinion after what Keith Senior did in the match against Castleford. He should have been sent off and not stayed on the pitch to score two tries.

Not looking great at Wigan at the minute, losing Pat Richards and Mossop to Oz and then the signing of a 31 year old union player. Hope he can settle in quick otherwose he will be a bit of a waste. In good news though we're getting rid of the druggie we stood up for who then decided he hated the club, goodbye Hock, you won't be missed.

Widnes beat St.Helens
Never thought I'd be writing that !
Widnes suffered a 62-0 defeat in last season's corresponding fixture, the result on Friday ended a 16-match losing run against Saints, stretching back to 1994.
Only 2 points behind Saints now in the table.
Huddersfield Giants next, can't see us beating them.
