Rio Ferdinand is a lazy get.
Robinson's already proven s***e.
Beckham puts four out of every five crosses on a German head.
Michael Owen hasn't been an International standard player for years.
Alan Smith's never been an International standard player but gets 10/10 for effort.
Joe Cole's runs around headless and dives a lot.
Unfortunately clueless up front as usual. Clueless in the dugout.
Micah Richards did ok for a while.

Two of the Worlds top teams both have absolute nuggets for goal keepers though and who do we have as a replacement? Calamity James

dark days, McClown's circus rolls into town with more u-turns than the conservative party. James, Barry, Smith, Dyer, Brown, Beckham - all has beens and not good enough.

Much as I love to see David James back in an England shirt (play up pompey) it does show you how good our manager is. Let's look in the long term by bringing back a 37 year old keeper........
Oh and while we are at it Beckham who may have been great before but isn't now. Maybe he isn't match fit, but he isnt ever going to be again, especially playing in USA
Owen who couldnt score in a brothel
Richards did really well and I thought the left back did ok too.
Maybe this once we need to not qualify so that things are made to change.

The sooner McLaren goes the better. What a joke. However, I don't believe it is all down to him, but he has to take a portion of the blame.
Having said that, I have to agree with the comments on Richards, and personally thought that Wright-Phillips done well.
Beckham might have been the best crosser of the ball but on last nights performance - he looked off the boil at best. Ok so he's not match fit - do we as a country have no one else that can play right wing and put crosses in?
If you look at the team sheet, on paper we have some of the best players in football. The problem is, that none of them can play in the same team.
If we had less foreign squad members in our domestic leagues, as a nation we would be forced to bring up the English youth, and they would get used to playing as a team. Its no good for our national game to have our best players teamed with great players from France, Germany, Italy etc.
Individually our team are great, collectively they dont have a clue - underachieving at its best. The team is better than they can perform, its getting them to produce it which is the problem.

It doesn't help that all these foreign players play day in day out with our national players so know their strengths, weaknesses and how the English game is played.

I wonder how well we would fair in International competitions if they changed it back to max 3 foreigners per English team, as it used to be.
I think we'd possibly struggle even more to reach past group stages.

How about a dedicated English team, its players arent allowed to play for any league clubs. Get paid a decent wage, still have all the international games with all the glam. Could it work ?
