I must say, this afternoon is the first time I have ever actually sat down and watched it properly. I dont know if its all the fancy camera angles, instant replays, ball trajectory models etc, but I couldn't get away!..certainly seems to have improved for the TV viewer anyway.
Crikit, was always a surefire way of sending me to sleep.

Can't help thinking we'd still have been better off with Thorpe, Bell's not convinced me at all
If we make 200 tomorrow I'll be amazed
I'm starting to think that maybe we English should have kept our gobs shut about McGrath & Warne being past their best too, I think it may have wound them up a tad

You've never been able to beat a 5 day International for excitement, especially against the convicts
It's all about the tactics and the mind games you see
Can't wait till the (proper) Old Trafford match now

I don't honestly see Ian Bell as being Cricket's Garlic Bread

Unusually, Vaughan wasn't especially convincing either

For me Vaughan has not been convincing with the bat all summer, he donated his wicket in the 1st innings with an awful shot.
roll on the 2nd test, I would hope England have learned a lot of lessons from the 1st test.....

I reckon from that outing against the aussies we've got at a push 2 form players and they are harmison and pietersen who i reckon can handle the aussies and the rest look way out of their depth especially the top 4 batters with flintoff, geriant, giles, hoggard, jones (i think hes a bit more promising) looking equally dodgy.
If we are going to win any tests, what do you reckon would be the best playing wicket (flat, bouncy etc) for england to have a chance on???

I've got a sneaking suspicion that those two might have a little 'first to 600' wager going on
McGrath's cocky enough to think he can overtake Warney
