Premier League Teams... *Ker-Ching*
This news will no doubt push f1_fan's buttons (ergo ''capitalism' out of control' lol + football! )...
For the first time, ALL 20 PL football teams have made it onto the richest list.
Sort of 'interesting', I guess.

The premier****e is a joke, end of.
It gets more like some computer game every year.
The teams with huge income win stuff, the others struggle.
Crap.
And don't even start on greedy mercenary players.
Supposed to be the best league in the world? Yet our clubs don't dominate in Europe and the England team couldn't win anything if there were only third world clubs playing.

As the Premier League has gained wealth, the National Team has progressively worsened. It's a poisoned chalice tbh. What they don't mention is how many of those 20 clubs are still operating at a loss or carrying huge debt burdens......most of the Premier League. There is also the sneaky way of getting around the Fair Play Financials by effectively selling huge stadium naming rights deals to companies essentially owned by the owners. Coughs Man City.
The other slight annoyance is the loss of ticket availibilty to real fans who pay top dollar for tickets/merchandise in Cup Finals. Flattens the atmosphere and people wonder why the FA Cup has lost it's magic. Football, in general, sold out.
How much Spurs earn or are worth is of little interest to me as a fan. I just hope they balance the books to stay in business and the team play well. I appreciate that would be at odds with people depending on them for jobs in the local area....that said there were always jobs on match days with a full house in the 50s/60s to deal with and, compared to the pre-Seat Only days, the crowd numbers are actually down a good 35-40% now although silly ticket prices cover the loss of bums on seats. They won't come down when they seat another 20k of us either.
There's far too much money floating around agents/first team players and not nearly enough at grass roots. I've been to Europa League matches when there are 8000 spare seats......why not drop the prices and fill the seats? Better atmosphere, more mouths to feed, etc. Never happens though.
Not meant to sound ranty, just observations. I'd far rather we were 30% poorer as a football club nation if it meant the National Team could turn out a decent tournament. Euro 96 seems like a very long time ago. Compare that to Rugby/Cricket on far tighter budgets.

Wigan got relegated from the league that year though and are not likely to return soon. Over the coarse of the year, the stronger (more valuable squad) prevailed.......financially at least. Whilst one moment won Wigan a Cup, as did Birmingham v Arsenal in the League Cup, predominantly, the money teams survive in the Prem. Man City finished 2nd that year and had European matches to contend with. Sort of levels it out in fairness a bit. Sort of. Not really.
