If anyone is interested in watching Eagle owls, Harris hawks, Smowy owls and other birds of prey I could arrange a meet at Eagle Heights Bird of Prey centre Eynsford Kent. Falconry courses and afternoon sessions can also be arranged. They also have a large selection of reptiles and snakes on view.

can i just say i did a bird of prey flying course at this place that my other half bought me and it was a REALLY good day out.

the weather kinda killed it off and we had to finish early(for those doing the walking/flying that i did you need some serious water proof boots) but we went into a classroom and they brought in loads of birds for us to see/hold, snakes spiders all sorts!.

But i flew some black hawks, a MASSIVE golden eagle thing that i could only just carry! a baby barn owl that one of the employees sons was raising as it had no parents, fed some baby snakes, all sorts.

I'm not a great one for nature/birds etc but this was a really good day.

I would be up for it, though a room full of spiders would have me back in my car very quickly.

"Only if there is golden eagles dat has ears the size of dogs and eyes as big as elephants"

Thanks for all you interest. They open weekends from 11am to 4pm with flying displays at 12 noon normally owls and 3pm for the larger birds with the reptiles at 1.45. We can get lunch there. I'll organise something when I get back from the Network Q. Those of us that are interested in spending another afternoon going out with the hawks can arrange a date and time while we are all there.

Christine, What happened to you with Leeds Castle?

We waited and waited in the pub and apparently drank lots of tea, but you never came!
