Thumbs up

Funny u said that but just had my car tracked on Friday. Looked at all the companies such as Tracker, RAC and others.

Went with Tracker (most established) as by far the best and cheapest option. They do 3 types. The Retrieve, Monitor and Horizon. They are the only company that use the UK police forces (patrol cars can track stolen vehicles)

My Insurance said would only accept the Monitor (£434 fitted plus £99 annual subsciption).

The retrieve costs around £250 all-in so see if your insurance comapny will take that.

The RAC Trackstar and Tracker Horizon cost you a small fortune (£700+) and employ GPS satellite to locate your car.

The bloke fitting my Monitor said a waste of time since the GPS signal is useless if someone decides to bundle your motor in the back of a lorry (blocks the signal) or other car jacking methods (thieves have wised up).

Anyway try for the Retrieve and if a no-go, go for the Monitor.

Got mine fitted within one week. No more sleepless nights!

We have tracker, as they are the only company which is recognised and supported by EVERY police force in the UK.

It made no difference to our insurance ahh well, good for piece of mind anyway! You can pay either 99 pound a year or a life time (of your ownership) fee of I think 299 pounds (not sure, maybe 199???)

Hope this info helps you.

they dont - i have been rung a few times when leaning on my car talking. It has a special sensor to monitor movement, i think it is linked to the ignition / door locks or something so that it disables when your in it.

Talking

mine has RAC Trackstar fitted to it with a lifetime subscription which basically works out cheaper than renewing it each year if you are intending to keep the car for more than 3 years. Been told by several insurance companies that it is the best system going so it may be worth your while investing on that if you see the car as more of an investment of money rather than something to go from A to B slightly quicker than anyone else!

Cool

The RAC Trackstar is £599 + £325 for life time subscription.

You can now get it on 3 years free credit, £78 deposit £23.50 a month for 36 months.

Makes it a bit easier on the pocket! The price of a few pints and a curry for some piece of mind.
