No way, the LED is so bright in my car the whole car lights up blue inside at night with every flash . It actually is probably too bright, bringing your eyes to look at the car if you are near it at night.
But it is satisfying to get a received beep on the pager if you are quite far from the car and are checking if its locked.

i have one of these and dont like it,wish i never bought it now.
the pager battery lasts about 4 weeks max, thats like 12 batteries a yr !!
the pager system is pants, i armed the car, then got the missus to open it up with my other key to set alarm off, i was about 200 metres away, did my pager go off, NOPE,yet if i stood next tot he car, it goes off, well no ****e, i can hear the alarm i dont need the fob to tell me also !!!
The features are good but dont know if u lot know, but ur settings are per fob not the alarm pack, so if u lt ur fobgo flat and dont change batteries within a minute or so, u loose the settings.
i have VRS,passive arming, forced passive arming on,the battery in my pager went flat, while i was changing over i took 5 mins as i was faffing about, then no forced arming etc, been back 4 times to get it all set again, now i just use the small fob as the battery is much better at lasting.

I have the 480XV with remote start on my car. Just waiting to upgrade the antenna to i can have the 500XV. The new colour remote is awesome. With Vipers you can just do so much as you have so many spare channels.
I have remote start, window closure so far. What do others have?

Christ, i feele i need more add ons,all i have is VRS activated, passive arming and forced passive arming, didnt want auto lock of the doors as in winter i shut the car leaving it running etc in garage, click clunk, oops LOL !!!
thing that bugs me is, these add ons are like £60 per sensor/module plus fitting time,my alarm cost £340 so with all the add ons it would o fbeene like £600 !!!
whats this about upgrading to the 500 from the 480,hows that then ?

The US site doesn't list any of the new UK models as they have not been officially released yet. There is a new UK site due soon. The closest model the US have to our 500xv is the 7900 but that comes with remote start.
Viper - Security with Remote Start - Viper 7900
The details you will get on the UK installers sites is as good as you will get anywhere.
