cheers man, I am and I'm not lol. Mainly not because I am impatient, i have spent most of my savings buying the car, getting it home, doing wheel bearing/abs sensor and now filler neck pipe haha

on top of this I haven't drove it yet

but I am in the sense it looks like I have a decent shell on my hands

I'm assuming, by the Sonic Blue/W- reg/skirts/front bumper/mid level wing/no STi wing badges, that she's a regular MY00 WRX?

Just keep beavering away putting any other bad things right, month after month. Regard it as a 'hobby', so you don't become impatient lol.

It'll be worth it, and you'll love it.

Is she std. (aside from the gold STi wheels and clear indicators)? If so, do you intend to keep her that way? It'd be great if you did, IMO.

to be perfectly honest mate I do not have much knowledge of subaru's, where can I find the model on the car?

My cousin had a type ra that I split up a good few year ago now, so I have some what of an idea of them.

from what I know it's a 2000 turbo, been told because it was in with the last production of classics it comes with 4pot brakes etc standard is this true? As for mods looking at receipts I got with it, it has full 3" turbo back and decat stainless system. Whiteline ARB's and or/ uprated droplinks, STI intercooler, dump valve and boost gauge

oh and yeah i plan on keeping it the way it sits just now, I quite like it, before I bought it I was looking at coilovers for it but watching it on the drive home, I wouldn't be able to drop it much anyway as it sits quite low to the ground. I like my cars low and good handling

I thought it could a be UK Turbo 2000, because the skirts are not body colour (which they were on the later JDM cars).

But I didn't realise the Turbo 2000 came in Sonic Blue (unless it's been resprayed?)

Yeah, the "phase 2" MY99/00 UK cars did get the 4 pots (as well as the 440cc yellow injectors).

If you look near the passenger side strut top, you'll see the VIN plate. Post up a close-up pic of all the info on it... Or at least post up the 7-character 'Applied model' code.

Also, I think the UK cars have a 'Bright' button near the heater/radio cluster. I also think the speedo is to the left of the tacho (opposite to the JDMs).

Indeed, why not post a pic up of dash and facia...

Just realised...

Did you mean 2000 as in year of production, or did you mean 'Turbo 2000' (UK car)?

As you thought, defo a MY00 Turbo 2000.

215bhp / 214lb ft

TD04L front entry turbo; good for c. 270-310bhp if remapped (usually makes 280). Could well make more, as the MY99/00 has a slightly bigger/more efficient TMIC, and of course the 440 injectors.

But, of course, that's all academic, as you're gonna keep her std., right?!

The H (for UK cars*) stands for MY00 (Sep 99 - Aug 00).

The K means a UKDM car - or at least a non JDM one. (For JDM cars, this character would be either 4, 2 or 5 - for no. of doors, ergo body style).

*the UK cars MY letters went from A to H (JDM from A to G). Despite covering the same years span.

Do you mind disclosing the VIN's 3-character 'Paint code'...?

Yep, Sonic Blue - just as your car is.

But I didn't realise the regular Turbo 2000 came in that colour! (Obviously, the UKDM 22B Type-UK and P1 did).

Bizarre.

There's nowt weirder than Subarus, it would seem lol.

good, mind at rest knowing it hasn't had a colour change!

just waiting on subaru to get filler neck in stock then she'll be ready for the road, just carried out rear diff oil change/g-box oil change and engine oil and filter change, new wheel bearing and abs sensor. puts mind at rest when i change all the oils myself, sales manager at the garage i worked at was surprised that it was sonic blue as well, he worked at subaru for years

heres the filler neck that came off

thinking about tinting windows in the next few months, whats your opinion? i think they look good with windows tinted.

I did consider doing my white STi 5 4-door like the Type R i.e. with the rear sides and back done. But then decided against it, as I didn't want to give the impression of passing it off as something it wasn't. Then, of course, you worry about the film getting scratched/torn over time.

So sacked the whole idea off ages ago (plus saved around 150 sovs in the process).

Cheers for the link Paul.
Hi Mikey,I owned this very car for 8 years. Just sold it in November last year. To answer a few things I've read so far. The car was brought into the country new from Holland by Monksheath Subaru,Englandshire. As such it is probably, technically a 'parallel' import. So that's why the Sonic blue colour is indeed the original colour although it was never available on a UK car apart from special/limited additions. I did fit the Sti wheels and IC and the drop links, rear ARB,decat exhaust and done the 'snorkel delete' mod. However I didn't fit a dump valve,so last owner must have done that! One thing I will say, the main reason I sold it on was that it was going to cost too much for me to keep it 'just right'. The rear arches, especially the o/s were starting to show rust bubbles,so not sure if last owner repaired this as he said it was no bother to him,so might be worth checking it's not just had a 'bodge up job' done to hide it. In the time I had it,it was never remapped,or tracked and was always looked after and was on many drivers club stands at various shows. I hope you get everything sorted and enjoy it,great to see it's now went to someone who'll look after it! Any questions, just ask,I'll be happy to help. Sorry for the long reply! :-D

Oh forgot to add,the immobiliser gets interference from mobile phone masts! If it doesn't beep when you press the fob you will have to put the 4 digit code into the keypad with the drivers door open,it should then start beeping until you close the door and lock with the key. When unlocking you unlock with key, open door, alarm will go off,put in the code and alarm will disarm. I'm assuming of course that the last owner gave you the code!

Cheers for that mark, yeah the guy I bought it off ran his own body shop and he sprayed the osr quarter after repairing it but there is already bubbles coming through underneath the paint. He done a really good job of spraying it but prepping on the other hand isnt so good. There is also bubbling on the nsr quarter but very little will just need to see how it progresses.
I just done a bit of work on it so will see what like when I put it on the road and take it from there. Good to see the history of it though cheers

Funny you mention that actually we got stuck at kinross services with the immobiliser and could not get it started for the life of me. I got the code from previous owner but still didnt work. My oldman jumped in it and seen headlights were still on. Switched off and tried.again then the car started. Done the same when I got home to confirm that was the fault but it started with them on so not a clue what happened bit not done it since

To be honest i think the lights being on at the time was just a coincidence,if you have tried to disarm it unsuccessfully or not put the code in correctly it automatically locks you out for about 30 mins before you can attempt to re enter the code. I' m not sure if the guy gave you the Sigma alarm instruction book that i gave him? It explains the procedure in that.

I think it is there mate but I was in that much of a hurry trying to get it started that I didn't read it. I think you're right though and it was a coincidence

bought the new filler neck pipe today, undersealed it when got back home, so any future owners dont have the hassle. £86 quid I got it for dont think thats bad considering I have seen some go for £200

did you get another subaru after this one mark?
