I had to travel through Dundee yesterday am to get to Montrose and was bloody scared $hitless on the kingsway it seemed that every driver was possesed by ayrton senna's ghost cos there were what can only be explained as 'superchipped people carriers' 'jet engined corsa's' and vectra drivers with a deathwish..!!
Is it always this manic or is it only wednesday is wacky races day..?
On the bright side i got a wave on my way out of Dundee....

Can be a bit scary at times. Thing is people don't tend to adhere to the speed limit. Just put your foot down and enjoy
You do need to watch the "jet engined corsas" though there are a few neds around, and the majority don't have a clue.

Yeah, it is all part of the lovely Dundee Experience!!
Coincidently, if you see a VERY standard looking white Corsa on white raceline 15's, dont race it unless you have serious power, as it runs mid 13sec 1/4 miles, and thru the gears (with traction) the thing is awesome!!
As was said, just put your foot down and enjoy yourself.....
Cheers,
Grant

people in dundee generally dont know how to drive!?!
-they dont give way at roundabouts (either that or i'm going round them too fast)
- they tend to hover in the outside lane
- nobody indicates - occasionally you get the odd gesture but then they change there mind!
- dundee has more than its fair share of Taxi, OAP, female and karachi specials - autorickshaws drivers!
- bus drivers in dundee think that to indicate when pulling out from bus stops is too much of a sporting chance - best excuse for scramble boost if ever there was one!
- those who are not "signing on" tend to use their SUVs as dodgems for passage through traffic
- those who afford their SUV's by signing-on and entrepreneurual pharmaceutical ventures tend to to so but more pro-activley
- never park at a dundee supermarket - if doing so budget for a trip to your favourite bodyshop
- when passing schools look out for all the pregnant girls that cant control their prams
- when passing schools look out for all the older men who oose all directional control and may stray onto the road.
- the new kingsway retail park seems to have confused most drivers and now its just a free for all - look out for the old lady coming from tescos that insists in doing a couple of laps of the roundabouts and somehow doing a scaletrix lane switch too!
yeah driving in dundee is fun

RS Grant - I do not know Steve as such. My mate built that car from the ground up. If I remember rightly over £8000 went into that engine alone. It was an awesome car when he had it - 2.1 litre, throttle bodies, programmable ECU blah blah blah.
Did you read the article in REDLINE magazine last year where the same car recorded a sub 4 sec 0-60 dash. And all from a normally aspirated engine.......
As for my wheels, have a MY02 WRX. Well wort of, getting sorted at moment after small bump.

I had been swaying as to whether to go or not but I now have business down in Plymouth next week and will be flying down this Saturday. If these meets are going to be monthly then I'll get to the next one. Hopefully my car will be back on the road then.

Fingers crossed that I'll be back in mine before the week is out though...
I think I did see that feature, the car is extremely quick, however Steve is trying to control the launches at the moment to bring his times down.. Its pretty damn impressive, and I do like the way that it looks practically standard!!
Cheers,
Grant
