Looking for opinions from you guys/gals to help me decide which ones to put on my P1 please?

I can get the Toyo's cheaper but need to decide if the Pirelli tyres are worth the extra cost.
If your running a P1 as well, please add to the reply so I know.

Thanks
Techno.

Well I hate my Toyo's. Good in the dry, but cr@p in the wet. I'd personally go with Goodyear F1's. Hope the new Pirelli's are a lot better than the originals on my RB5.

I'd rate the Goodyears as much grippier and comunicative than the Toyo's but that's based upon RWD.

Checkout the Goodyears.

Thumbs down

Had P-zero's on my 5 Type R.

OK

Tried 18" Wheels with TOYO's

No good (Sidewall stretch looses flex)

back to 17" GSD3's

Now you're talking.

Best wear grip package around IMHO.

I've got Toyos on mine.

As said many a time by various...great in the dry, but i'm not impressed with them in the wet.

Wink

Have a read for my opinions...based on 16's though

To summarise Goodyears win hands down over the Proxes but you will shred the outer edges after one track day or any bit of over zealous driving ... but they can't be beat on wet grip

Thanks for all your input guys. Need to go and get some prices on the Goodyears so I can make my final choice.

Thanks again for your help.

It's all down to outright performance or good wear with the F1's and Proxies.

My F1's only lasted around 9K, whereas my Proxies are well into double figures and still have some good life in them yet.

OK, 80% of my driving is motorway or fast sweeping A-roads, but the little 20% is B-road, figher pilot mode

The Goodyears are difficult to get hold of and no doubt the price will reflect this.

Let us know how you get on.

<shakes head in disbelief>

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's pi55 all over Toyo Poxy's in all departments..... other than wear , when they will feather the shoulders a bit quicker than the Toyos.

Got 7,000 miles from my last set of Proxes with 5,000 from the Goodyears (fronts anyway) so there ain't much in it

Toyos are the simple answer....Jim Dickson is the man to fit them.

Toyo's every time

Value for performance there is no contest!

Though I have not tried F1's, yet

Bridgestone SO3's are a very good tyre, highly recommended!!
Don't rate Proxes at all, only lasted 8 weeks when I had my RST!!

I would say for 17" wheels go for the Toyos.
If they are 18"s get something else.18" Toyos are so bad (sidewall flex/understeer at all tyre pressures from 32psi up to 38psi although 38 is the best) that i am thinking of ditching my 18"s and going back to my 17"s with the Toyos they were so good in wet and dry.
