I'm going for Pirelli P-Zeros on my scooby after a recommendation. The Assymetric is used on the rear, but you can use either the Assymetric or Directional tyre on the fronts. Can anyone advise of the best combination on the scooby? Thanks

Hi there. I run Pzeros and, to be honest, I find their wet grip disappointing. They're progressive and a lot better than the RE010s fitted as standard, but I do feel that I've lost grip in the wet.

Why not try S02s, or Toyo T1-S? They seem to be very well regarded by most people who try 'em - I know that I will be trying S02s next time.

(By the way, this is on 17s)

SO2s transcend physics in the wet, even with water streaming across the road they continue to provide grip when other cars have let go. Transition into no grip is more abrupt than OEM Bridgestones.

Am now running in SO3s, so far, excellent but not had a chance to test wet grip yet - the rain channels seem bigger tho' although the tread pattern is less aggressive than the SO2.

Finally if you are planning to do track work the S02 wears its shoulders very quickly so you need to run very high pressures. The S03 is supposed to resolve this problem.

P-Zero's are the worst tyre I've ever used on track. They go off faster than Harj's feet on a hot day!!!

Rather strange that Stef as I have done literally thousands of laps on PZeros and only ever had them go off once at Cadwell when used very agressively for a protracted time. Still managed to be as quick as cars with slicks fitted and it never happened again once the pressures were raised slightly.
Perhaps the tyres you tried had been through too many heat cycles?

G1, to answer your question, use Assimmetrics front and rear

Thumbs up

Thanks everyone!! I'm going for the P-zeros for now as I've already bought the rears - maybe the S03's next time to compare. (which probably won't be long!)
