I would just like to thank those people who have recommended Micheldever Tyres near Junction 8 of the M3. I have just bought 4 Pirelli P7000s for £91 a corner all in. That is a saving of £24 a tyre over the cheapest place close to home, which almost pays for the bump steer mod this Saturday.

If you are wondering why I bought Pirelli P7000s, well Scooby Wagons like mine seem to suffer from excessive tyre noise. The 1999 Autocar test indicated that Pirelli P7000s are much quieter than Bridgestone SO2 and Goodyear F1. The difference is very noticeable, I can now hear the wind noise that all the car mags mention and also the turbo whine is much louder.

Long journeys are now bearable!!!!!!

Interesting to note.

Micheldever are my choice for tyres (my folks live near there) and the noise and price of tyres are going to be factors now as mine are getting a bit on the low side.

What tyres did you have before?

I have used Micheldever for years now. I got P-Zeros from there recently at £87 each which was MILES cheaper than anywhere else at the time.

They also do a pretty good wheel refurb service (just had mine done).

My previous tyres were OEM Bridgstone Potenzas, which tramlined badly and were very noisey. The tramlining was probably due to the tyres being worn, but the noise probably isn't.

Last year I made the 3 1/2 hr round trip to
Micheldever tires for a set of S0-2 PP for £425 all in. The best locally was £575 for Goddyear F1. S0-2 were over £600. Well worth a tank of petrol.
