just been having a look at the Knockhillwebsite and was shocked to see no touring cars and a few other big name weekends lost from the lineup
If Knockhill can't get the big crowds through the door then does it mean back to the bad old days of scottish championship only . I hope it doesn't go that way but then again Touring cars haven't been the same since the 94/95/96 seasons

I'm definately there - probably try park in paddock if anyone see me, say hello
I think the place needs to be done up like one of those house programmes on telly. Needs pits, needs grandstands, needs cleaned up big style IMHO. On saying that, its a great track

Yeh don't think it very fair calling the guys neds. The biggest ned at the last one was actually a guy driving a Yellow Scooby. I have been on with them once in the Elise and you just need to realise that they drive more aggresively than events such as SIDC. I felt far safer on SIDC days for sure though.
Moses, in fairness I reckon you would have your work cut out keeping up with many of them. Though never actually seen your motor on at Knockhill, but maybe you are a secret ace driver.

Just back and had a thoroughly enjoyable day Had 6 doughnuts which always makes things better.
Some nice Impreza's out on track including a 22B, Escort cossie, Vauxhall livery Corsa (shifted some), and the usual array of regulars. Even saw a poor Renault 19 flip on its roof down at Duffus.
On the down side - quite a few 'no action' periods of stop/start/red flag and the like, which screwed the flow alittle.
Had a look round and paddock was virtually empty... [granpa mode on] i remember the days you could hardly get into paddock, nevermind park in the middle of it with no one remote near you!![granpa off]
Overall good day!

Never been to a Hot Hatch day at KH but if the standard of cars are similar to some of the ones on display at ss-r Kames session, I never will.
Nice to hear a 22b(hatch ) was on track and nice to see a Skyline in action at Kames.
As for some of the other sheds!!!!!
Flame me if you want. I don't give an SNet.

Standard of driving at SS-R Kames today was very high except for some idiot in a Skyline. Oops, think that was me when Marc gave me his keys. He had them back in his hand before I had completed a whole lap. Decided that I preffered all four wheels glued to the black stuff. Controling that around Kames is completely different from my Elise.
Dougster - how have the SS-R seem to have upset you? I find them a really great bunch and certainly as reasonable around Kames and as friendly as any SIDC meet there that I have been to. (They have also changed the format of their Kames events and there was loads of track time for everybody in attendence, unlike the one I think you attended a while back) They also have very popular social meets and run which are well attended. I think the range and standard of members cars is pretty reasonable which is one of the attractions of the club to its members. Sorry if I have missed something along the way and just in a bit of a mood because my ex is a lazy git when it comes to babysitting Skye once or twice in a blue moon and I'll just have to pick on you tonight :-) Catch up with you at next Glasgow meet, hopefully.
Moses - you are indeed right about Duffas being a bit scarry. Its the blind crest of the chicane that frightens me. Get the EVO on at a SIDC event. The standard of driving on the last one was first class and well suited to newbies. We have all sat in the pit lane crapping it before our first run. But after that the bug bites. I'll even video it for you :-)

Oh dear Oh dear!! A bit of a snob are you dougster!!
I doubt if you would be missed much at KH or SS-R if thats the attitude you take. Ive seen your car on Dumbarton Rd a few times.. very nice yes, a bit of a pimp mobile if you were to ask me. However you wouldnt, as by your tone in that post you wouldnt lower your standards and talk to me in my "shed".
I didnt make Kames today because im skint. This is also the reason i drive a "shed" as dougster puts it. At least with SS-R we all get a chance to participate. All are welcomed and all with an "open" mind enjoy the club. I registered on this site in the hope of getting away from the neds and such on the "cruise" sites. Seems that I may as well head back that way as they at least dont consider themselves better than others.
Dougster in the chance you do attend another SS-R event, come and talk to us "shed" drivers. You may even be welcomed you never know.
I drive a 106gti, mildly modified and great fun on the track. AHHH theres the word Ive been looking for F U N, get it! Get off your high horse and out your pimp wagon and have F U N. If you want my passenger seat is waiting. You might need a change of underwear but i guarantee you would have F U N.

Really trying to post a nice reply to your SS-R post, but you know, I'm really struggling, lol.
Here's the deal....
I'm an old git (35 on wednesday) and I am lucky enough to now be in a position to choose pretty decent pair of cars. I have an 8th gen Galant VR4 saloon (black pimp-mobile) and my wife has a supercharged MX5 with extras
However, we have a lot of young guys and girls in the club who are mad keen on cars and driving, but cannot possibly afford the running costs of performance cars at this stage in their lifes. So, they have to make do with what they have, and to be honest some of them put me to shame with their driving skills.
We make a point in SS-R of making everyone feel welcome and usefull, no matter their age or wallet size. We also don't make snap judgements on people by the car they drive, and even YOU would be welcome along to one of our meets
I had a great day at Kames by the way, even if Ailsa wouldn't let me take the beast on the track Got some great video of the Megabusa mounting the hairpin rockery, lol He left shortly after that.
