Any where good where I can pick up a good 2002 model mountain bike? Have heard there can be good bargains on last years models.

Looking for disc brakes and susp. Have a decent amount to spend.

Any ideas welcome lads.

Edinburgh Bicycles is a brilliant shop and the staff really knowlegeable and friendly. Well, they were when I was into bikes (in a big way) when I was 16. No idea what they are like now

Edinburgh Bike Co-op - No idea what they are like now
They've got a bit too big for their boots and customer service has gone down the tubes a bit. They used to be excellent but they'v eordered parts for me recently and after 3 months still no joy and not even a phone call to say anything I've bought 3 bikes from them but won't be back

Alpine bikes in Hamilton Place (Stockbridge) would get my vote over service, repair and helpfulness but they used to only stock Kona and Scott from memory but could have all changed now

It's still a good set-up and excellent for sales but they simply take on too much business on the repair side of things and have employed an awful lot of really young guys to keep things going.

Most excellent but some of the advice is simply laughable

Yup - SiPie is spot on with that assessment. It used to be excellent for CS - not too pushy, but helpful and knowledgeable when asked.

Unfortunately, when I was in recently looking for a new helmet (no sniggering ) I practically had to beg for help, and even then the assistant seemed to have a fairly relaxed attitude

Go to PEDAL POWER in West Calder.

Ok i did ride for the sponsored pedal power RT and may be a bit biased but there good young lads who race or have raced for Scotland so know exactly what there talking about.

If you go there, say Mark Silver sent you and that i promised youde get a discount - lol
