Checkpoint are usually one of the cheapest. Colin's Tyres at Dyce are also competitive.

However, if the screw is through the centre of the tread, then it can usually be repaired, unless you have driven lots of miles on a flat tyre, and destroyed the sidewalls.

I got 17" Toyo Proxes for my last car at Colins Tyres on 775447, ask for Colin when you call. I think they were £106 each, I could have got them for about £8 less down south, but by the time you pay the carraige better off doing a deal here.

The reason i'm getting two new ones is becasue i'm making the progression from 205/45/17 to 215/40/17

The offside tyre was on it's way out and the nearside one has a puncture I've already got the other two on 215/40's. I guess this was just the motivation i didn't need to get them changed

After a search of Scoobynet I found this thread but it's not quite what I'm after .........

Does anyone know where I can find a (cheap) tyre fitter in the centre or south of Aberdeen ? After the trackday I've just bought some of these :-

Federals (which get rave reviews despite price)

which I bought for £50 a corner + £10 shipping from
http://www.topgear.co.uk

Not bad considering Toyo's were £100 a pop !!

Can't be arsed being ripped off by Kwikfit etc so really looking for some sort of independant joint

Thanks

Cal

Really - 50 quid a corner for 17s?
I'm in the market for a set of boots for the motor... Was intending on going for the Goodyear F1s, but if these Federals are alright, I'm interested.

Try giving Sillitt Tyres (excuse spelling)on Holland street a try. So far he has always been good for me. I know he has car and bike people coming from miles around to use him. He keeps his costs down using a small back street unit but the service is tip top.

Cheers
