Great start to the day
Well I woke up today and did the normal routine of filling up and going to clean the car , I pulled out on to the a52 near work and out my foot down in third and when it got to 6k it was like it hit the limiter and now it's missing and the lights on

Bugger, why 6k in third, seriously what's the point of doing that to it on the A52 of all places, you should have been making some pretty rapid progress at 5k change up and away you go nicely in the power band, border line thrashing it IMO, so to be expected something might not like it.
Mechanical sympathy, cars last a lot longer when you use some.

With it being the sti U.K. And a 6 speed they are geared differently and to be fair I didn't realise it was at that revs , but we don't buy these cars to potter around in do we , I put the post for advice not criticism

True, may as well buy a diesel if you don't want to rev the thing. I'd hardly say 6k revs is thrashing the **** off it.

Exactly , 6k is hardly taking the car to its limits if anything it's mildly touching it but yet again everyone is quick to voice there opinion like they never use there car to the full potential

Glad it was something simple, remember though no going over 6k, for every time you go to 6k rpm a small group of midgets somewhere die.

6k IS as I actually said Borderline thrashing it, your car, your problem.
I drive mine with mechanical sympathy because if something breaks then i'll be the one paying to fix it and it will be off the road for however long that takes, which defeats the object of having a car.
Enjoy it by all means, that's what they are for but I don't need to hit 6k rpm to do that, you'll learn in time that sometimes you get away with it and others you don't, knowledge that will hit you in the pocket and inconvenience you as well as affect your ability to make the money you'll need to fix it.
But like I said "Your car, Your problem." this time you were lucky.
I'm just old never had a performance car and don't know anything about engines and gear boxes and all the associated parts that work together to make it go brum, brum.

So, what your saying is when it pops and stutters at 8,500rpm. This is a bad thing ? Damn, I won't do it again !! Lol.
I'm looking forward to the next post, was cruising at 7k rpm and now my cars sounds like a john Deere !!
