I ran the Blobeye lower than usual, so figured I may as well take the fuel quite low ( to the light) and fill up.

The light came on whilst on a school run, so I put another 7 miles on the it whilst light lit, then went to a Tesco 10 miles away, where the gauge was well below min, in fact it got to the bottom of the "E" very quick!

So all in all 17 steady miles when the light came on, and the needle reflected it being pretty much nearly out of juice, in fact I was a little worried that I might end up stranded

Anyway I got to the garage fine, popped in 12L of meth, and then continued to fill up with 99, to when it stopped at 39 litres! I managed to squeeze another litre and half in it, but that was it.

So I ended up with a mix of 12L meth & 40L fuel so 30% meth, plus my suspected 8L of 20% meth already in the tank!

So all in all I ended up with meth combo of 30% at 52 litres + 20% at 8 litres = 28.6% meth mix! Arggghhhhhhhh.

Anyway I've steadily drove around and then added 6 litres of 99 out of a brimming jerry can!

So I'm now at 20% meth....... Oh my tired brain LOL

The moral of the story is these bloody gauges vary from car Subaru to Subaru vastly, even similar models! I honestly thought I am going to run out of fuel, although I had 13% of a tank remaining when I topped up! and going by my calculations I had around 20% when the light came on, and this was on a level road!

Weird boring post over

Rob

Dont manufacturers do that to make you think '**** i need fuel' so you DONT run out lol?

When my fuel light comes on i fill it asap, and usually get 44-45 litres in.

So still, have 15l in there. But at just over £70 im glad, as it would be about £95 to fill the c*nt from propper empty lol

I use the 1/4 tank marker as my empty, then fill with 5L meth and 20L 99 which shows just under full on the needle

Your right about the way there designed to flag up you need fuel, but there not consistent.

That is true. When i first got the car and drove steadily i could get an indicated 100 miles to the first quarter of a tank, then the next 3/4 i would only manage another 150 max lol

These days i get about 210, but probably because i drive it a bit quicker lol

my blob had a 1/4 tank left and I went to mod nats about 90 miles away, I got there without the fuel light coming on

I set off home and the light came on soon after I left, I thought I'd see if I could get home without filling up and I managed it!!!!!

180 miles from the 1/4 mark!!!

yes, I was driving steady, but I can't believe it.

when I filled up it took 58 litres

gauge works fine, it's a 55L tank (about 3 litres above the tank and in the filler neck)
it must have been running on fumes when i filled up though

Bloody hell, I never let any car get below quarter of a tank and my usual fill up is about 35/40 litres in the scoob, I've never put 50 litres in.

You're doing it all wrong!

Fuel light on the blob is 9.5 litres left, so 50 litres to fill. So 10litres of meth + 40 litres of V-Power. Job done.

Never take more than a 10 litre jerry can, and always wait for the fuel light to come on before filling up to ensure the perfect mix every time
