Default Towbar for bike rack figment question

Guys
Does anyone know if the towbar from a 2008 impreza hatch will fit a 2006 saloon
Reason being I have a towbar kit from my recently departed hatch Sti which was used for a Thule bike rack, and before going out and purchasing a new one circa £230 I wondered if anyone knew if the rear mounting points for the towbar are the same

Cheers marcus

I would doubt it mate chances are nothing will line up and if its a Thule tow bar and you don't have all the bolts and spacers you can't get them from Thule

I just had a towbar fitted to my Blob for this very purpose.

Its a Witter with single point electrics. Fully fitted for £210. I got an ebay bike rack for it and it works a treat.

£210 for the blob! How much for the carrier if you don't mind me asking?

I've done exactly the same .. although I can't remember it costing that much.

If I remember correctly there is not meant to be a towbar that fits the STi .. but the normal WRX one fitted fine on mine .. and excellent for carrying the bike and a small box trailer with my spare wheels/tyres for track use, or taking stuff to the tip. Not sure I'd want to put anything bigger like a caravan on it

This it the problem I face, either go roof racks + fitting kit and bars or get one of these?

Mines and STi but if there'll be an issue with the rear bumper then maybe I should stick to the bars?

The thing that sealed it for me was...do I want to be going mountain biking in the rain/mud then putting the bikes back on top of my scoob for chain oil/dirt/bricks to sit on the roof?

The way I do it, the bike can get as dirty as it likes and doesn't even touch the car.

(btw, I have the prodrive exhaust on mine and it fit fine)
