Default newbie hello :)

hey everyone
just joined up
iv currently got an astra 1.8 mk4 which is great little car but a little boring now!
iv decided to go for a blob eye WRX in blue as my next car
once i found out i could afford a AWD car like the scooby iv not been able to find anything else that tickles my fancy

i had an MR2 once but i was within the 50% of people that write them off so im still a bit anxious about buying an RWD car even if it is front engined.

going to be buying in about 3 months and looking to pay about £3500-5000 for up to 80k miles. there's a few within range so shouldn't be too hard to find

not a wanted thread or anything. just saying hello. ill probably ask some questions in the near future

MR2's are mid-engined so were quite notorious for spinning at the drop of a hat. I had one spin across the road in front of me on a dual carriageway..

For £5k you should be able to get a fairly decent WRX with mileage lower than what you are hoping.

You are right though, it HAS to be blue. Just like a Ferrari HAS to be red..

might have been me ... they are hard cars to drive and i never really got the chance to learn. it had crap almost bald tires on it when i bought it and i never got a chance to change them. went round a bend in the wet and it just went like it was on ice. didnt even get a chance to push the car. you cant push them though really. you can only drive them 80 percent of there limit because once you hit the limit your screwed. how do you learn the limit when you can hit it? wheres the fun in that lol? didnt realise this when i bought it though

im hopeing so although id rather have one with 80k on it thats immaculate and well looked after than one thats been raged for 65k. also the scooby engines are pretty reliable i thought? how long do they normaly last? im planing on keeping it a while.

am i right in thinking that scoobys are like VAG or BMW mechanicaly but the interiors not as good?
