If it has just had a service, I would check for air leaks.
If not possibly spark plugs or coils.

I've been lookin for leaks all weekend but nothin obvious and its had new plugs, leads fuel filter and air box. Is there any way of checking the coil pack?? It's the single block on top.

Depends on the model. My coil packs at directly on top of the coil. You can remove then and look for any cracks etc. but is not overly scientific proof!

Regards the coil pack on MY99-00 Impreza's, you can easily remove it and look visually for cracks with a torch of bright light. But that's no indication to say it's fine just as it may not have any cracks.

I had a recent issue after a remap where when hitting full boost at 1.45bar it would chuff and splutter. I replaced the plugs, tried two different MAF's, checked for leaks etc. Nothing worked. Replaced the leads and coil (which looked fine visually) and the problem was gone! Was obviously something in there that was corroded, which when running standard power wasn't showing. However after a remap when said components were running more stress, it was prevalent.

No problem, least you can rule said plugs and leads out.

Which plugs did you fit out of interest?

I've got NGK iridium a myself I think. Well they're heat grade 7 and recommended by my mapper. Box is lying around somewhere

Leads were actually s/h off a mates modified Scoob, red 8mm ones and do the trick nicely but can't remember the brand. Not much help admittedly but lots of knowledgable info on here These early shifts fry ones memory!

I've replaced a few breather pipes, took off the coil pack and had a good look and put some injector cleaner and octain boost in with the fuel. But no change as yet ;-( I'm gonna drop it around my local Scooby garage scoobybits.co.UK coz he supplied and fitted the maf so ill see wat he comes up with. I'm hoping its a dodgy maf, fingers crossed ;-)
