Default re nitrous

Hi just wondering about nitros oxide for the odd 1/4 mile event. What is the differance between wet and dry systems and can it be used ok with meth, or would it be better with just meth?

It needs mapping in so switchable maps is a must.

Can be used with meth.

Not sure on the different systems though.

Hi there

Difference between the Dry and wet this should help http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrous_oxide_engine

We are running Wet on our wagon and is mapped as spooler aider(when is boost pressure 0bar or positive boost NOS starts to kicks),we are running with 20% methanol (on the meth map),we are running only 25bhp jet and difference between the meth and NOS is great and you will really feel on the road/drag this extra.

Depends on the ECU you will need extra solid state relay, wiring to ECU,but I would ask for sure AlanJ/MartinJ@EngineTuner what extra you will need etc.

You don't need NOS you just need a bigger turbo which wil be much safer so cheaper in the long run.

You can't just throw a bigger turbo on everything Steve, sometimes you need to look further into the spec of the OP's car first.
We know full well that with a meth mix and or headwork and cams we can get a fair bit more power out of the current turbo, however, the latter does cost a fair bit in comparison to a wet NOS kit which whilst not everyone's way of doing things, does work very well when used correctly.

If the injectors are big enough could go for a simple single jet dry kit

I'm interested in Nitrous too, but Iv heard it can cause HG failure, is this true? Also what does it cost for a kit fitted & mapped?
