Subaru parts: they know what to charge....
Just been over to Donny for a trim part.
It's the bottom trim piece of the roof rails, where they meet the bottom scuttle panel at the driver's side base of the windscreen.
£9.00!!!!!!!!!!!
it a peice of moulded plastic!
And worst of all, it DOESN'T come with the clip to hold it in place: ANOTHER £1.50, for a 10mm plastic clip.
There's no wonder folk aren't buying these cars any more.

My previous car was a Fiat Stilo Abarth, the parts for that were eye-watering, not yet had to get anything for my Impreza so cant compare.
A guy in the motor industry once told me that manufacturers make very little profit on the sale of new cars and the bulk of their profits is made on replacement parts.

With all due respect given what I would believe the shrinking market for classic Impreza parts plus the fact it's what I would estimate is low volume captive part, the dealer and importer can charge what they want within reason.
It's the way of the world, as volumes shrink the price increases due to in part increased manufacturing costs and increased stocking charges due to the decreasing sales.

I can't think of any car dealer that's any different, I used to always buy ford because of cheap parts, not the way anymore. They all charge extortionate fees for parts and labour hence why so many minimal damaged cars get written off,
