Well I gathered mine over time, most of the bits came off here second hand also which kept costs down. I can't give you an exact figure as I've honestly forgotten. You have to also bare in mind I did mine in stages. I started with just a decent panel filter and cat back package then got Duncan to map it. I'd say a year later I'm where I am today. At a rough guess not including the ecu I'd say 1-1.5k? But as prices can vary on second hand bits that could be more or less. It was well worth the wait

You be surprised mate, a cat back with a panel filter and map should see roughly 260ish if I remember rightly I certainly noticed the difference. If you have already saved for the full system upgrade then you may as well go with that otherwise your looking at getting it mapped twice which mean more money. Up to you bud, maybe go to a local Subaru meet in your area and get a ride in cars modded at different stages?

Who says you have to get an Sti to get performance. Lots of us WRX owners on here cant lay out the cash for a nice STI. But we can afford bits and bobs on a regular basis. Top result.

Don't get me wrong I would like an STI but funds didn't allow it at the time plus the insurance was off the scale. I've done this over time and yes the money spent would probably now get me an STI if I'd saved but I've learnt a lot about the car over the years and enjoyed modded it along the way, I still won't rule out getting an STI in the future but for now I'm loving what I have.

Its been a great experience taking my wrx to 350bhp, you develop a relationship with your car when you scrape your knuckles on her. Its great power level for a road car too and plenty of fun on the track.
In some ways i'm glad the gearbox is stopping me from taking it further as its easy to get carried away chasing numbers instead of just enjoying the car.
