Default Hi, I'm new arggh, which one?

Hi,

I currently own an ep3 civic and am looking to upgrade in the next few weeks. Im a common poster on the civictype-r.co.uk forum

I have in the region of 5-6k to spend, but dont tell the missus
Question is, which impreza?

Which is the best, sti type UK? How can I tell whether the car Im looking at is a genuine and not just a kitted up version? I belive there was an upgrade year on the type UK but what year?

Ive owned an old wrx wagon back in the day. It was a P reg if I remember correctly. Loved it!

Any help would be great in the meantime ill do my usual investigations on the forum

thanks in advance guys

Best way is to check against vin numbers. Im sure someone here will soon tell you which numbers the sti has.
At a glance i'd look out for Brembo brakes, red intake manifold, larger inter cooler and STi on the clocks.

The newage sti cars are easy to spot, 6 speed, brembos all round, IC spray, blue seats, higher rev limit, bigger intercooler amongst other things.

The best thing to do is find a car and post a link to the advert on the board, the chances are someone will be able to tell you if its the real deal.....Fairplay to you for being cautious, there are alot of Imprezas being advertised as something they are not.....its a fricking minefeild for someone looking to purchase their first!
