when i click the link it just comes back with a blank page

But then you'll build up an audience on something which is pretty useless for businesses. You'd be better off promoting the page from the start so you can take advantage of the additional functionality offered.
There's no way to move group members to a page later down the line.

I'm stuck at the moment as I can't join the group only the page as on the mobile version you cant search for groups and my laptop is up the swanny!
