Should I make my car look older with a private reg or not?
#1
Bought my MY01 expectng it to arrive during the Y prefix plates so bought the reg number Y9 WRX. The car was late so ended up being registered on the new style 51 plates.
Should I make the car look older by putting the reg on it or not. I really can't make up my mind so any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers Nathan..

I think u should , cause it doesnt really matter unless u want everyone to know it a new 51 plate, im considering buying a priv reggie for my 51 plate (quicksilver) thats a M* ***, it wouldnt bother me, just means that people will know its ure car

the question you are asking is do I care what other people think?
if you think people are impressed by you have a 51 which isnt the newest anymore anyway, and you really care if they are, then waste your (at least) £250.
If not fit it.
to me its a no brainer

51 plate is no longer the newest, so there's no factor of "i'm cool, i've got a brand spanking new car". So you should put the funky private plate on. then you get the "i'm cool, i've got a private plate" thing.

It looks good, so what the hell.
I went thru the same dilema for several seconds before buying an S reg (scoob connected) plate for my T reg 1999 car.
Never regretted it.

Thanks for all the replies.
Looks like my mind is made up then, on the car it goes. Just filled out the V750 and will post it away tonight.
At least it will stand out a bit more now.
Lol at the parking comment. At least I wont get parking dents on my doors
Cheers

I've got a 'P' plate on an X reg car. If you like the number plate then have it on the car. You and your friends/family (if it's that important to you) will know the true age and a good number plate makes it that little bit different.
