Unhappy Down changing to save money

Hi guys,

think i am going to be selling my Blob eye wrx to save some money, getting a classic with an sti lump & rebuilt box etc plus cash my way, the new ones pushing 410bhp so should be fun. Less on insurance & save a bit.

Still feel a bit mixed about it all, the interior and confort etc seem a bit worse.... dunno, a little half hearted about it because my blobeye is lovely, just with 3k worth of debts, need to clear them out and be sensible.

Anyone who feels like offering me some reassurance, a pat on the back or even anyone whos done the move back to a classic is most welcome

Classic ftw!!!

How's that?

Seriously though, what you'll be losing in comfort and interior refinement you'll be making in up in smiles with that lump under the bonnet!

Doubt if he would be saving money in the long run though. Older car more prone to parts wearing out, more power thus heavier on juice and less resale value. To enjoy the classic you will have to be wringing it's neck, at anything less the Blob will win hands down. Just my tupenneth.

When I was getting insurance quotes, the classics were more expensive. The cheapest I could get was the blob type uk sti I endeed up with. £372 with privelage (I can never spell that)

I love my Type R, but there are days where I think to myself, I'd love to have a bit of comfort as my car is extremely raw!

The classic is a great car and it will bring a smile to your face, but it's difficult to compare directly with the Blob as in terms of comfort it's a much more refined car, but really speaking, getting a classic to save money, I'm not convinced that'll work.

If those are your financial circumstances then I would forget the idea of the classic. Infact I would sell the Blob and get something cheap and cheerful until I was back in front with my finances. It may not be what you want to hear but in the cold hard light of day it's what I would do.

If you want to save money, buy something economical. You're running costs will be the same, if not slightly more. Plus do you know the provenance of what you're buying?

Another vote for selling it and getting an old banger for 6/12 months to you pay off your debts although 3k is not too much nowadays
You will always be skint if you tamper with Scoobies

Better to make do with a nice standard classic and spend £300 on detailing products and enjoy cleaning it
It will turn as many heads as a highly modified one
