Is it just me or is business just that good ?
I've been trying to get someone to fix my alloy, someone to restore the overall look to my car, (someone with a bit of skill) and someone to supply and fit an alarm.. and I've contacted loads of companies, but they just can't be arsed ..
We'll call you back, or no sorry we're busy ..
I would have thought companies would be falling over themselves to snap up the business, especially on a car like an Impreza, the almost cult following means I will certainly tell other people if they do well ..
WTF is going on ?

i think it business is going this way in general.
i called a landscape gardener out for a price on my back garden.
he came out and was here for nearly an hour.. chatiing away and said he would get back to me with a price. he never got back.
2 phone calls later, 2 more failed call backs.
also called someone about tinting my rear windows, chatted for about 15 minutes on the phone, agreed a price and said he would come back to me with a day he could do it for me.
didnt call me back, ive tried since.. no answer.
FFS im trying to give you people money!

I had a similar experience trying to get 2 alloys repaired. Tried 5 different companies until one bothered to contact me back. Also had a similar experience with some paintless dent removal after someone left a nice little dent in my door in a car park.
Either they are so busy and there is no recession or they just cannot be bothered . Very frustrating when you actually want to give them cash!! Even some dealers never ring you back

Try National Alloys in Widnes mate, same guys from what was Pro Clean in Prescot
http://www.nationalalloys.co.uk/index.htm
Never used them myself but have friends who have when they where in Prescot and they did a good job. Looking at their services section they can colour match to your wheel and repair for £20 - £25.
Ayde.

Was similar when I needed some new flashing on my roof above the downstairs bathroom. Looked in Yellow Pages, rang 3 companies up. Asked for either a rough quote on the phone or to come look and quote. One was busy so emailed me to say when they'd call - never did, one said they would be round in 20 mins to look - they never turned up and the other said "sometime" next week they would come quote me.
I thought bollocks to them and ended up speaking to my cousin who works for a contracting company for the local council. Got a nice gent to pop round, saw the issue quickly, quoted me £80 and he would 'pay' his VAT ( )... 2 days later job done, no more leaky roof.
If a company can't even keep to an agreement to call you back, re-arrange if genuinely busy, or even turn up when agreed then they get a little black circle in the Yellow Pages and are avoided for good. Just bad manners IMO.
