Default Lowering a halkeye impreza

Would like to lower my 2007 halkeye impreza, how would I go about doing this?

Anyone know of anywhere near north London or if Subaru main dealers could do the work? Would it make a diffrence in the way the car drives?

Thanks x

It depends on how you want to lower your Hawkeye, you could get the prodrive lowering springs, or go for coilovers, varying in price from £500 - £2000 - depending on how rich you are feeling. London area, slowboy or mocom are 2 names that spring to mind.

Handling wise, it should sharpen things up & improve turn in. You'll need to get the alignment done after fitting.

I went for a set of Tein springs in my 06 WRX. With the alignment done correctly after fitted have made a massive difference - just feels so much more direct - and improved the bouncy ride it suffered from.
Before I fitted the RB320 lip spoiler it cleared the speed bumps no problem and makes the car look completely different. (35mm drop front 25mm rear) pics are on here if you want to see.
£200 best money I have spent on the car bar of course the racedynamix re-map :-)

Budet around £500 for some Eibach springs, fitted, together with fast road geometry setup to transform the handling and dial out understeer. Budget another £270 ish for an uprated rear anti roll bar with solid droplinks to really transform your car. ARB has a greater effect than the springs for less, springs finish it off nicely. Bob

Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but doesn't lowering the car make it MORE likely to roll?

Is this true of the 07 Sti's? I know my 2001 WRX benefited quite a bit from ot's whiteline 22m ARB, but i imagined by 2007 Subaru would have it sorted the understeer more or less, especially on the STi with it's more fancy supension?

Because of the front weight difference between WRX and STi Prodrive made different springs for both. IIRC eibach only made springs for an impreza and took no accept of weight difference.

I have always rated Prodrive springs

Tyres make a vast difference to the amount of understeer. Ran RE070's and very little, put TOYO TR1's and turned into a tyre squealing wreck. IMHO

BC coilovers
will lower nicely and improve the handling
i have no understeer on my 06
Remember the shocks are poor on 06-07
so if you change the springs you may have to change the shocks soon

You can, via Prodrive direct. You can also get them via various traders, eg Alyn at AS Performance, who will give great advice on any Subaru parts you require (he's an ex rally driver).
