Default Fuel Consumption !!

My car does about 130-140 to half a tank, to the whole tank I can get about 240+ easily, that's with city driving and having my foot down now and then.

My fuel consumption went worse for last 2 weeks or so, I bought a used lamda about 4 months ago for an early classic so I decided to buy a Bosch LS02 lambda and fitted it to my car hoping that was the problem, I have driven off boost most of the time and have just about struggled to get 100 miles to half a tank- 30+ miles less than usual with more economical driving.

Any suggestions what I could do?

My car has been mapped and has always been good on fuel, this is a recent problem and the map was not touched.

Thanks..

Your post does not make sense to me.

2 weeks or so, 4 months ago, then a LS02??

At which piont did the mpg drop off??

Have you had;

AFR/emissions checked??

Fault codes read??

ECU reset??

About 4 months ago I bought the wrong lamda for my car and got quite good fuel economy, for last 2 weeks the fuel economy dropped. I thought it is because the old lamda had failed as I bought it used. I then bought an LS02 which has made no difference at all...

I need 2 check fault codes etc..

i once drove to cornwall from cambridgeshire (396 miles) i did it on less than one tank, in fact i did it on £42 of super plus, that was last year in a 2001 bugeye wrx re-mapped etc, the fuel prices were pretty much the same as they are now, but i have to admit i was conducting a bit of an experiment (boring i know lol) to see what i could get, i didnt do anymore than 70mph and tried to slipstream lorries before overtaking, it may sound a tad dull, but it just proves if you want good mpg, its down to how you drive, i managed 40mpg!!!
