Are 2ltr forged engines selling at the minute?
Basically, toying with the idea of breaking the car and before looking into it properly just wondering if the fully rebuilt and forged engine will sell easy enough and are they going in the current climate
Quick Spec:
2ltr '97 STi Engine
Wiseco Pistons
Manley Rods
ACL Bearings
Uprated Oil Pump
Ran on Motul Fully Synthetic
Mileage = Approx 4000 miles
Rebuilt December 2009 by Harvey (Smith) & Darren

Dont really understand what you mean about the oil???
"got a choice to make myself over 10.40 semi"
I use 10w40 fully synthetic as thats what the engine needs

simple really mate, its worth what you want to ask,and it will sell accordingly. i.e if you want it gone quick price it low,if you want what its worth then hold out for the right price

Not sure I know the difference??
I'm not so much bothered by the price at the minute, going rate seems to be around £2'000 - £2'500... I was more after peoples opinions of splashing out ££££'s for engines in the current climate, when that sort of cash can by you a half decent older car

The rate at which classics are being broken up these days is really quite incredible. Even mint Type Rs are being considered for what they may fetch in parts. People either cant get a decent price as a whole, or cant justify the cost of fixing them up.
That means that 1. more engines are available and 2. there are less cars looking for new engines.
Supply and demand means that you may have to wait a while for a sale.
